Off to the city for this weeks’ coffee experience at Nano Ready 2 Go on what was a beautiful July mid-morning and so I ordered from the friendly chap at the counter a ristretto and cappuccino.

The ristretto came to the table first as pictured below and was a little bit skimpy on the crema, but the colour was good. The consistancy was medium, in other words it wasnt thick, intense, and wasnt thin, but somewhere in-between. The coffee was quite acidic but then again this blend is said to have the taste of ‘..caramelized orange citrus’. This ristretto would of been far better had it made its way into a thicker consistancy, and as a result lacked intensity, mouth feel and the punchy tastes.

I noticed cappuccino’s being made for other tables having some really good latte art, and mine unfortunately wasn’t part of that and as you can see in the photo below it was covered with some  chocolate powder which contained sugar crystals which you can make out in the photo. Not sure on the need to serve this powder with the extra added grainy sugar crunch, it serves no benefit to the coffee at all other than unwanted grit. The froth taste was deliciously creamy…. pretty darn good. Now I was hoping for a never ending amount but it wasn’t to be.

I also ordered a latte for our table, it was stronger in coffee taste/look than mine and as you can see below my cappuccino was milky. Unfortunately this is something that has happened to much over the last 21 weeks at other cafe’s I have been to as well.

The barista at Nano has a good reputation for excellent latte art and coffee, mine fell a bit short today.
